A UK first for AI compliance reporting
In Q1 2026, Zoe played a central role in helping Biffa and FCC Environment become the first operators in the UK to submit AI-derived composition data to the Environment Agency as part of their formal compliance reporting – a methodology validated against manual sampling and accepted by the regulator.
Where regulatory expertise meets operational reality
Zoe works directly with facility teams to build the confidence – on both sides – for AI-supported sampling to replace manual processes. Her focus is on the practical: methodology, validation, and making automated reporting work within existing compliance frameworks.
Her content covers MRF compliance in practice – Materials Facility Regulations, Simpler Recycling, the upcoming Deposit Return Scheme, and how facilities can use AI waste analytics to stay ahead of intensifying reporting requirements.
Zoe is a Chartered Resource and Waste Manager (CRWM), a professional accreditation from the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management. She holds a degree from the University of Bath.
