Find out how your packaging performs in global waste streams

Behind every data point is a real-world image — built on facts, not assumptions.

  • Facility data

Sorting plants are where the story begins – and where 150+ Analyzer units across 20+ countries gather data on packaging waste.

  • Analyzers

Computer vision systems identify waste at scale, detecting over 40 billion items in 2024 alone – no packaging design changes necessary.

  • Platform

Deepnest translates raw data into intuitive, customisable dashboards that track and benchmark products by brand or material.

  • Expert guidance

Greyparrot's team of waste experts turn complex data into clear, actionable insights on packaging design, material choice and more.

Your packaging tells a story — from design to disposal

Deepnest gives you the power to control the ending, ensuring your packaging’s journey leads to real-world impact and measurable sustainability.

Find out how global recovery facilities are sorting your packaging

Deepnest reveals how much of your packaging is recovered, mis-sorted, or lost in the waste stream, measuring the impact of your design decisions on recyclability.

Benchmark your recovery rates against competitors

Deepnest scores your packaging based on its sortability. This score shows you where you stand compared to competitors and category standards, and what to prioritise next.

Who we work with
AI-enabled waste intelligence tools have great potential to provide new visibility into how packaging is actually being sorted... to inform future packaging design, enable recyclability in practice and at scale, and increase the supply of high-quality recycled materials.

Deepnest can transform waste data into insights to guide smarter packaging design from the outset. We’re exploring how this technology can help us embed a data-driven approach across the entire packaging lifecycle, moving us closer to 100% circular packaging.

The packaging industry relies on lab scale testing, software models to predict recyclability of packaging solutions, but actual real-life data is missing, given the huge resources it would take to get that data at scale. Deepnest is unlocking real-world recyclability data that the packaging data chain has been missing.

Deepnest FAQs

What is packaging waste intelligence?

Packaging waste intelligence is the actionable insight gathered from global packaging recovery data.

That insight points the way to more circular, compliant packaging design.

Who is Deepnest for?
We designed Deepnest for consumer packaged goods brands and packaging producers track their products in global waste systems.
Why are packaging leaders using Deepnest?
Brands, retailers and packaging producers use Deepnest insights to measure the real-world recyclability of their products, make data-driven design improvements, and adapt to evolving waste regulation.
What is packaging sortability?

Sortability measures packaging’s recovery rate.

It’s the proportion of units that get sorted into the correct material stream at recovery facilities – excluding units that are sorted into the wrong stream or lost to landfills and incinerators.

Where does Deepnest data come from?

Deepnest draws data and insights from our network of Greyparrot Analyzer units, installed in recovery facilities around the world.

The Analyzer system uses computer vision AI to identify around 100 billion waste objects each year, identifying each item’s brand, material, function and more.

Why gather data in recovery facilities?

Recovery facilities sort packaging by material type before sending it onwards for recycling or disposal.

Sorting is a critical stage in the recycling process: if products are designed for recovery, they’ll get sorted into the correct material stream and eventually recycled. If they end up in the wrong streams, they’re unlikely to get recycled.

Deepnest reveals how packaging performs in real-world sorting systems, helping brands design packaging that’s more likely to get recovered and recycled.
