Waste intelligence technology has evolved since last year’s RWM conference. In just twelve months, we’ve expanded our AI waste recognition library, introduced powerful new features to the Greyparrot Analyzer system, hosted collaboration days between recyclers and policymakers, and even launched a new platform for brands and packaging producers.
For us, RWM 2025 is all about the real-world applications for that evolving technology. We’re believers in AI’s future potential, but this year we’re focusing on the practical use-cases generating measurable results.
Behind the scenes, we’ve made groundbreaking progress on compliance automation, and helped customers make a measurable improvement to recovery rates across the UK, EU, USA and beyond.
Together with the waste professionals that use our technology on a daily basis, we’ll be sharing the latest developments in AI waste analytics, and how it’s reshaping recovery facility operations.
160+ Analyzer units are now active in more than 60 facilities, spread across 20 countries. Every deployment is different, and we’ve introduced new ways for users to adapt our system to reflect their specific operations, regional requirements and commercial targets:
We’re bringing live demos of those features to our stand at RWM 2025, where you can get hands-on experience with those updates – and find out how our customers are putting them into practice.
Visit us at Stand RS-D182 to see waste intelligence in action.
The Environment Agency’s (EA) sampling requirements are time-consuming and costly, but they’re also a legal requirement. Thankfully, the EA now accepts data generated by AI – as long as it meets their reporting requirements.
Over the last year, we’ve been working with one of the UK’s largest recycling organisations to accelerate compliance automation.
Together, we’ve developed the first framework for automated sampling and reporting, which has been submitted to the EA for review. By standardising and digitising the process, facilities can look forward to faster reporting, fewer manual errors, and a clearer path to regulatory compliance.
Join us at our stand to learn more about the progress we’ve made on compliance automation, and how we plan to scale it to other UK facilities.
Real facility staff are generating real revenue with the help of Greyparrot technology.
Since last year, we’ve seen UK operators like IPL Brightgreen automate their sampling processes, and major European facilities like Omrin’s expanding from one to eight Analyzer units. Why are they investing in AI? Some of those recycling experts will be joining us in Birmingham to explain.
Foppe-Jan de Meer will share how AI helped KSI Recycling make the business case for a simple cleaning schedule change – increasing recovery rates by 10% while keeping their facility compliant.
Cheshire West Recycling’s Jody Sherratt first encountered Greyparrot Analyzer at a previous conference. In 2024, his team adopted AI in just six days. In less than a week, they were gathering actionable data that would surface underutilisation, overstaffing and a business case for in-house haulage.
Foppe-Jan and Jody will join our Business Development Lead Matthew Steventon to cut through the AI hype and share practical results on day one of RWM 2025. Join them for “What AI Saw That we Didn’t: An Operator’s Perspective on Waste Intelligence”, where they’ll talk about what really changed when they adopted AI, what the limits of the technology are, and how they see their facilities using waste intelligence in the future:
